What Is the Hangang Bus?

The Hangang Bus is a public ferry service on the Han River in Seoul.

It started service in September 2025.

It connects the west and east of Seoul along the river.

Where Are the Stops?

The Hangang Bus has seven docks (stations) along the river:

The main route runs between the west (Magok) and the east (Jamsil). Yeouido is a central stop with the most connections.

Note: Routes and times may be updated, so check the schedule before you go.


How to Get to the Docks

The docks are near the river, a little away from subway stations.

  • Free shuttle buses connect the docks and nearby subway stations
  • Shuttles run every 15–30 minutes during commute hours
  • You can also walk or take a taxi to the dock

Price

  • One trip: 3,000 won

Payment

  • Use a transport card (T-money) or the Climate Card
  • Cash is NOT accepted

Climate Card Option

  • With the Climate Card (about 5,000 won extra), you can ride unlimited times
  • It also gives transfer discounts with subway and bus

How to Board

  1. Go to the dock (use the free shuttle if needed)
  2. Tap your transport card at the gate
  3. Get on the ferry and enjoy the ride
  4. Tap again when you get off
